California - Wilayah pegunungan Sierra Nevada mendapat hantaman badai salju parah. Ketebalan salju di sana bahkan nyaris mengubur sebuah motel.

Setelah luapan sungai atmosfer yang menjebol tanggul dan membanjiri wilayah Pajaro pada (11/3), kini giliran wilayah pegunungan Sierra Nevada mendapat hantaman badai salju parah. Ketebalan salju terlihat mencapai setinggi atap sebuah rumah maupun motel.

Bukan hanya bangunan, salju juga menimbun kendaraan yang parkir di daerah itu. Wilayah Sierra Nevada bagian timur saat ini telah memegang rekor 243 persen hujan salju untuk tahun ini.

Kondisi jalan raya pun juga terkena dampaknya sehingga membuat kendaraan menjadi sedikit sulit untuk melintasinya. Presiden Joe Biden telah menyetujui permintaan keadaan darurat dari Gubernur Gavin Newsom sebagai tanggapan atas bencana alam yang terjadi di California.
