Ushuaia, The End of The World - Fin del Mundo, Argentina

Argentina, Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia - Have you ever think to go to The End of The World? Seeing seals everywhere around the beaches? Sometimes, if you are lucky enough you'll see those seals at the harbour, having lazy day near the ship just like the lazy song by Bruno Mars. Then how about watching the orcas jumping around the ship that your are on? Visiting the national park which reachable by train?

Well, you may get all of those by visiting Ushuaia, the capital city of Provincia Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
The city itself, Ushuaia is famous for it's position which is located in the southernmost city in the world and quite well known as the north part of the Antarctica. If you want to see on map, just try to find southpole, the one part which has south america as it north border... There you go! That's Ushuaia.
You may joined with the cruise ship to visit this city who serves Antarctica Route Cruise. Either way, you may also use the airplane from the Buenoes Aires, Argentina which will be arrive at Ushuaia International Airport at the price range of USD300 for one way.
The local people speak mostly Spanish and only few speaks English. Eventhough it's still in South America, the average living cost is still higher than the other part of Argentina itself.
This place is almost like a copy of Switzerland, with it's snowy mountain. Meanwhile, the weather are mostly rainy and windy even on summer. The best part are you can see various birds flying arround the island while joining the tour to see the seals and penguin nest. Moreover, you may also join with local cruise operator package to see the orcas swimming around. They will charge you arround USD100 for those tour package include lunch on board. Which mostly durated on a one whole day. In the meantime if you want to visit some locals restaurant, just prepare for about USD30 for a sandwich with a mineral water or beer. The locals accept both local currency and US dollars as well.
How about souvenirs?? Well, it's not that cheap either. For a keychain, the cheapest one are arround USD10, but guess what? You may get a FREE SOUVENIR from this place!! Just visit the local tourist department office, they will make you a certificate that said you've been visiting "the end part of the world/Fin del Mundo". They can even make you on two version, the english version and the spanish version. Awesome huh? :D Either way, you may also buy some more kinds of certificate about Ushuaia from the local souvenir shop with more attractive antique stamp within the range of USD12.
This is a worth to visit place. You can enjoy the ecotourism as well as enjoying the cheaper version of Switzerland.
