Spanyol - Tradisi kuno menjadi satu cara menarik perhatian wisatawan. Dua desa Spanyol ini mempertahankan sebuah karnaval kuno untuk mengusir roh jahat.

Sekelompok Joaldunaks mengambil bagian dalam Karnaval antara desa Pyrenees di Ituren dan Zubieta, Spanyol utara, Senin (31/1/2022).

Karnaval itu bernama Joaldunak. Tradisi itu sudah ada sejak dulu dan menjadi acara tahunan di Spanyol.

Tradisi itu diturunkan sejak sebelum zaman romawi. Istimewanya, karnaval itu masuk dalam jajaran karnaval paling kuno di Eropa.

Selain itu, karnaval tersebut hanya digelar di dua kota, yakni Ituren dan Zubieta di Spanyol. Karnaval itu bisa diikuti baik oleh pria maupun wanita.

Karnaval itu biasanya dilangsungkan setiap Januari. Sekelompok orang dari dua kota itu akan berparade menggunakan kostum dari kulit domba, rok renda, topi kerucut warna-warni dan lonceng sapi raksasa di pinggang.

Masing-masing peserta akan membawa dua lonceng sapi. Agar tak terlalu berat, lonceng akan diikat ke tubuh dengan tali tambang. Tapi, ada satu orang yang memiliki peran berbeda. Satu di antara peserta itu harus menjadi setan. Dia dianggap sebagai roh jahat.

Si setan itu akan mengenakan pakaian berbeda. Di samping itu, badannya akan dibalut dengan kulit dan mengenakan topeng domba. Dengan diiringi bunyi lonceng, setan akan berjalan diarak untuk meninggalkan desa. Ya, karnaval ini memang dimaksudkan untuk mengusir roh jahat.

Warga lokal percaya bahwa ada roh jahat yang akan mengganggu panen. Sehingga, tradisi ini dilakukan supaya semua roh jahat pergi dan warga bisa merayakan panen raya tanpa merugi.
