Beirut - Museum Sursock yang didedikasikan untuk seni modern dan kontemporer kembali dibuka usai tiga tahun pemugaran pascaledakan di pelabuhan Beirut. Begini potretnya.

Kerumunan orang berkumpul di halaman Museum Sursock selama acara pembukaan tempat ikonik di Beirut, Lebanon, Jumat, 26 Mei 2023. Museum dibuka kembali untuk umum, tiga tahun setelah ledakan mematikan di dekatnya. Ledakan di Pelabuhan Beirut membuat banyak lukisan dan koleksinya yang berharga menjadi abu.

Para tamu mengunjungi pameran Sursock Museum setelah dibuka kembali dalam acara pembukaan untuk tempat ikonik tersebut.

Museum Sursock berhasil menggalang dana sekitar 2,4 juta dolar AS (1 dolar AS = Rp14.952) untuk merampungkan pekerjaan restorasinya.

Dana itu didapat melalui bantuan keuangan dari Aliansi Internasional untuk Perlindungan Warisan di Area Konflik, Kementerian Kebudayaan Prancis, dan donasi 1 juta euro (1 euro = Rp16.031) dari pemerintah Italia di bawah inisiatif LiBeirut UNESCO.

Para tamu melihat karya seni yang dipamerkan usai museum ikonik Sursock dibuka kembali.

Dua ledakan dahsyat mengguncang pelabuhan Beirut pada 4 Agustus 2020 lalu, menewaskan lebih dari 200 orang, melukai ribuan orang, dan menghancurkan sebagian besar ibu kota Lebanon tersebut, termasuk museum dan koleksinya.
